    What is the recommended gear cable routing for using a Alfine on a slot Inbred? I quick picture search should three options
    1. Toptube -> Seatstay -> sharp curve -> chainstay
    2. Downtube (ziptied) -> chainstay
    3. Same as (1) with the Alfine cable retaining thing mounted vertical

    So how do you have yours? I think the shimano specs don’t reccomend (3), no idea why…

    Option 3 will work with the standard green/blue non-turn washers. You could do Option 2, but you will need to get a set of different angle washers as well as the zip-tie issue you mention.

    Does option (3) work okay for you?
    I wonder why Shimano want the cable retainer mounted horizontally, any idea?

    Use option two, don’t rememebr bying any exra washers think it all came with the hub. No problems with it, in fact the only problem was using one of the twist grips which fell apart in no time

    I use downtube and chainstays. Got chrome and white washers (wrong for inbred frame) which put the hub feed on a slight downward angle instead of horizontal.
