Nothing terribly exciting seems to happen down here in Somerset, so the local news headlines can be a bit odd – Prize cheese stolen!.
This isn’t actually that uncommon after a cheese awards. You’re given limited time to collect after the show closes and it can be the case that cheese has been moved around for judging. If a member of staff is collecting for another producer then they may pick up the wrong product after all if cheese is show dressed they can all look pretty similar. One of our delivery drivers did it a few years ago at the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich (Judging next week yay~). We realised what had happened the next day when he brought the product back and we saw that it wasn’t our stuff, so we quickly got in touch with the owners.
