Can anyone recommend a free easy to use image resizing software? Just to do basic adjustments so nothing complicated.

    thanks

    apologies for the boring post.

    Online image resizer

I use this for posting pictures on the internet. It works well and is free.

I use Microsoft Image Resizer. Really easy to use. Just right click on an image or bunch of images, choose the size and whether to overwrite or make a copy and it’s done.

Thanks but I am looking for something which can be downloaded and used on the PC directly. It is for a friend and they have limited connectivity (they live in the middle of nowhere and use a dongle with a laptop).

edit, thanks nick and druidh, those are the sort of thing.

    bloody quick result too 🙂

Why don’t you use Microsoft Office Picture Manager which should be on your computer already.
I use that for resizing for emails or posting.
    Its part of Office.

FastStone is your sound just the thing.

+1. Thats what I use for re-naming and re-sizing lots of photos at once

    MS Paint? </shrug>

If you want something snazzier, Picasa is a free photo management tool and Paint.NET is a decent middleweight graphics app (it reminds me of the old Paint Shop Pro before it got ideas above its station).

Old school here. For batch resizing I still use Irfanview.

For everything else I use GIMP.

Gimp is well regarded, but I never got on with it personally.

Me neither, but I’ve got a copy of photochop for those days when it’s needed. All my batch resizing, bordering and watermarking gets done through FasStone. I stopped using Irfanview after it started doing something odd to my images when they were resized.
