getting cold in the garage. Seriously thinking about bringing them indoors - to keep the MLC company which is currently in the kitchen.
Am I being silly?

Am I being silly?
Yes.
If you bring them in you will only make them soft. Mine only get in doors if someone has attempted to take the garage roof off to gain access to the bikes.
Bruce - if you took all your bikes inside, you'd have no room left for furniture!
BTFU!
No, absolutely not.
And it's perfectly normal to mount a recently deceased frame on the wall as an example of industrial art.
Yes, how dare you let your poor inocent bikes get cold while your sitting on the sofa in the warm... If you don't they'll get revenge by spitting you over the bars.
Hmmm, looks round... that'll be three 'cross bikes in the lobby, two road bikes and an unloved ss in a downstairs bedroom. I didn't realise that they were huddling in for warmth. There'll be a riot in the barn when the MTBs find out.
Only one of these is mine but what with him moving his bikes in I've reached the 'if you can't beat them, join them' stage.
Cover them in GT85 then put a match to them, they won't complain next time!
My bike now lives either in my office or in the spare bedroom. Excessive? Perhaps, but thieving scum have made me this way.
Am I being silly?mmm. lets take a balance look at this...
Mine drank all my weissbier, then pissed chain lube all over the carpet.
Never again.
You might be fine with a garage, but... I had to replace two brake calipers a couple of years ago because both started leaking through the seals; I'm convinced it was the super cold temperatures in the super cold shed that did it.
*coughs* All of Binners bikes are in the house as is mine its very cold in Ramsbottom and they like 'Homes under the Hammer'.....
how good is it when you get a new bike and have it in the house!
Mine have their own room downstairs!...one of the joys of designing your own house extension
I nearly fell over when the mrs agreed to it,..
No you are not being Silly bikes should be nice and snug inside away from all the cold nasty weather. I built a special room for mine & the missus bikes so they could be warm & safe and get special treatment when poorly

I sometimes bring mine inside overnight if I'm going for an early ride. This is to make sure the suspension seals arn't cold and hard. I blew a fork seal once because it was frozen.
Oooo, that's a lovely mancave FS, well done!
Nowt wrong with having bikes inside, doing it because you're 'worried about them being a bit cold' is less good.
Mines always in the Kitchen, just means i HAVE to wash it before it comes back in. Which I dont mind apart from the late winter night rides.
Blimey FS. Do you ever leave that part of the house?
Actually.... I suspect the answer to that question will be the opposite answer to the following question....
does it have a beer fridge?
Holds hands up - fair cop, gov.
Ours are also indoors, 'in their own room' - would have been a home office but conversion work (leaky old concrete flat roof, concrete floored, plaster falling off walls workshop) took too long so I set up business in a little shop instead..
It's nice to have plenty of warm space to manoeuvre when fettling. Nothing like as spacious or well appointed as FS's man-cave though - heck , he's even got 2 track pumps!
Handily, however, it is accessed by passing through the kitchen, this means passing by (with occasional stops) the fridge
Our garage is next to the kitchen, so slightly warmer in there. Our bikes have had more attention than myself from hubby in the last 3 days
Ahh yes marsdenman, also as marsdenwoman is a good cook so the temptation of the fridge is hard to bare.

MrsMM is bang up for rustling up more soup + bread...Yummy! We'll need it in this weather.

I'm in.
I live in a one bed flat. my bike lives in my kitchen
I had to replace my external Hollowtech BB recently. The guy in the shop said it had seized up because of a mixture of not riding it and being in a cold place.
I haven't done much about the not riding part, but I have brought it into the warmth of the house to keep cosy.
My bikes live inside... only so they don't get nicked
Bit bothered about the plastic ones.
My garage has a heater to keep mine warm and snug
*is jealous of footstomper*
*waves to C_G*
Not silly at all!
Four of my bikes live inside, two live outside, but I warned both of them when I bought them that they would be "outside" bikes and not to expect to be mollycoddled. I think if you do it from Day 1 then they get used to it and toughen up - possibly they even enjoy being hard. I'm sure I hear them sneering and taking the p1ss out of the sissy soft indoor bikes.
Anyhoo, bikes are lovely to look at I think, to me they are works of art. I mean, who wants to look at some ugly miserable bird on a drab dreary background when you can admire your beautiful bicycle?
It looks like FS's man cave has a lot of shelves for shoes - may be it's a person cave
*waves back to Karin*. Lol, oooh, you're a no-nonsense gal.
How's your recuperation coming along?
