(or rather last night) you’ll get bitten/stung by some wildlife and your wrist will go all red and swell up and be as itchy as hell.

    Driving me mad!!!

I’m just going to moan a bit because my wrist is now so swollen I have had to take my watch off and the only time it doesn’t hurt is when I’m pressing it against my glass of water.

    Wah wah wah 🙁

    or a spider?

The False Widow, a purple and black creature with a body the size of a 1p piece, is said to carry enough venom to kill a human.

Since arriving in Devon from the Canary Islands, the spider has established colonies in Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

The spiders do not usually survive in colder parts of the UK, but a series of mild winters have led them to migrate to other areas.

Spider recorder David Haigh, of Cheltenham, has reported sightings of the species in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

One was in a shed in Tewkesbury and the other was spotted in Longney, he said.

The False Widow is one of 12 arachnid species known to bite humans in the UK.

    am I going to die?

One day. But not for a long time. And not because of this bite.

    Does that help? 😀

xcstu I had one of them only last week. they’re a doddle compared to this.

What’s the wrist equivalent of a cankle? cos that’s what it looks like.

i posted a photo of a bird i saw in my garden ages ago and apparently it was a baby robin. as several people pointed out. and it became a forum joke for some bizarre reason… it was hardly on the same level as owning with bombers or anything like that. i’m quite baffled by it, but i guess that’s this place…

Benadryl is your friend. My arms and legs swell up every day as a result of bramble scratches/high pollen count/ and those damn ‘biting flies’ when taking the scenic route home from work . . . I am now in a permanently drowsy state from too much of the stuff 😉 but it works – quickly too.

Zirtec is your friend if it’s itchy.
What does the bite looks like? One or two pin hole?

I”m fully dosed on the anti-histhamines Juan.

the actual bite is so tiny you can’t see properly, but I think just 1 hole.

    O M G!!

The False Widow is one of 12 arachnid species known to bite humans in the UK.

I really, really hope that my mrs doesn’t discover the fact that there are 12 species of biting spiders in the UK. She’d be bloody uncomfortable if she thought there were 12 individual biting spiders.

(Hope the itching is all that dies down. Camomile lotion?)
