I vote to arm bears.

I suppose if I lived in a really crappy area I might be tempted but it still doesn’t make much sense (study I read once said you were more likely to shoot a pet or bystander than a criminal- house crime is rare, paranoia is more common).

Also, i do like ’em. I’ve shot a couple and as artifacts/works of craft they can be beautiful to hold, maintain and use. I don’t need another expensive hobby though.

But perfectly happy with the status quo ta.
