I've always used iTunes without any problems. allows you to rip as AIFF (lossless same quality as CD), or in other compressed formats what still sound ok.

Media monkey is free and will rip to pretty much any format you like. It's a pretty good alround player, library manager and cd burner.

I always use windows media player. Never had a problem.
You can also do lossless (wav), or any multitude of file types. I choose mp3 at 192kbs.
It will tag the files automatically for you too.Posted 5 months ago # -
EAC FTW, IMO, FWIW - YMMV

i use either exact audio copy with a react script that adds album art rips to flac and mp3 all at the same time. (this is not straight forward to setup)
or foobar for virtually all my other ripping, transcoding, tagging needs which is a bit simpler but powerfullPosted 5 months ago # -
Windows Media Player it is, just couldn't find it within Windows7.
Thanks.EAC FTW, IMO, FWIW - YMMV
