I might be changing my TV provider and figure I might go for an HD TV sometime in the Sales. In the meantime, if I go for the HD Box, and plug it into my crappy old TV, will I be able to watch it?

If I have an HD Box, do I need an HD TV to use it?

Yes. To get the HD effect you do anyway.

Are you just pulling my wire now?
Just to clarify, if I get a Virgin HD+ bling blong blang box, and plug it into my POS CRT TV, will I be able to watch TV on it until I persuade mrs deadly that life will never be the same once we get an HD telly.

not if it's got a scart out or coax out as well as the hd out, you will need an hd tv to view in hd tho

You don't want to tell someone to RTFM as you pull off a double post

The V+ box can output via Scart, component or HDMI.
You have to use scart for the initial set up and it works fine, just change the output within the menu to HDMI when you get a new telly box.

We've a sky+ HD box plugged into a CRT telly, it works fine, we just don't bother paying for the HD package. Use scart for the connections, obviously

"You don't want to tell someone to RTFM as you pull off a double post"
Or to read a manual that the original post obviously states they don't have yet:).
