This logo forms the lid of a stein that belonged to my great-grandfather, and most likely has something to do with the Free State of Saxony, but it could be anything from a brewer’s logo to an industrial logo.

    Can you help identify it?

Is it the crest of the NeinBildPosten family?

Does it look like this? Saxon, German overtones, seems to tick all the boxes? Don’t think it’s from a brewery though.

    Joe cocker’s family crest

Edit – ah you added an image. Now my suggestion is just silly.

I am so embarrassed. I didn’t realise I had failed to include the image, then I got distracted by work, then I could not find how to link to the image using my Imgur app.

In any case, here it is:

badge of an old car? Can’t really read the scrathed text but it says “1906 (J?)uppold” on the bit I can make out.

    ‘Dippold’

    Family name?

It says Dippoedisvalde, 1907, and is from a stein that was given to him after an engineering job he undertook there.

That’s why I though it might be an industrial logo from Saxony.

Sorry, but I’m going to bump this tonight, and possibly one more time tomorrow, as I want to widen the pool of answers as widely as possible.

    Then I’ll let it die.

    I promise.

It’s just that I have seen STW pull off some amazing feats of knowledge…

Just googled the photo and the word dippoedisvalde and it suggested dippoldiswalde and brought this up

    Might help your search…

Dippoldiswalde is a town in Saxony apparently.
Also something to do with the German Milling School Braunschweig!!

I can’t believe you did that, ads678! You have just contributed something vital to a family mystery.

How did you come across the connection with the Milling School?

In any case, thank you! 8)

I shall down a weissbier in your honour.

Just lucked upon the ebay thing and googled the info in it.
Glad it’s helped and enjoy the weissbier. 😀
