My old Frame [Marin Northside Trail] was too small. Fell in love with the Soul after seeing it on here. 
Totally plastered in Heli tape.
Need a new rear wheel once I can afford it. But am delighted with the Soul so far...

Crud catcher or fender doesn't get the lot I find, there's always something sneaks through. I use both on my bike in winter too, they compliment each other well.
What about the heath robinson use of inner tube on the fork crown - does that not work?

I do own one of these but for ultimate mud clearence, it's a homemade job FTW.

The rim needs rotating clockwise approximately 3-4mm for perfect alignment. Also, you have growth starting between the paving slabs beneath that table that needs re-treating. I'd keep on top of that

When I bought my frame back in 2004, the choices were orange and black. Mrs North only sanctioned the expenditure on the basis it was black.

Yes. At the time, we had one income (mine), and so money was extremely tight. So discretionary expenditure came with certain strings. She seemed to insist on a colour choice, which was fine if it meant I could build the bike.
