Hypothetically speaking... What 29er FS frame set?

the spearfish acts very much like a softtail.its great for long barrel type tracks where you can sit and power over loose gravel and rocks where a hardtail you need to be out of the saddle.@ metalheart those stays are flat like that so they flex ever so slightly.the rear travel is only 80mm but it feels more like 100mm as the 29er wheels give abit more.its not endless feeling travel but a softtail is the best way to describe it and riding it accordingly.

Well I actually threw a leg over a 29er today.
I was impressed. Liked how it rolls and and climbs. Can't really comment on the downs as some clown left the propedal switched on....
Just as well that I have it for a couple of days then.

I would definitely have to have a demo on a 'fish first.
That back end (to me) just looks too flimsy but otherwise they look alright

A tenner - but as it's you sir - a fiver!
I'm down your way again in the second week of January.
Shall I pick it up then?

I'd be interested to know what the lateral stiffness is like on the spearfish. My mk 1 RIP 9 was a bit of a noodle at the back; excentuated by the big wheels I think. The new RIP is stiff as anything, but that's because most of it is forged, and the weight goes up accordingly.

Had another go on the AC29er today.
Firstly what a difference a set up shock and no propedal makes, no seriously... Duh.
Kept it to pretty simple stuff, nothing too technical (probably another mistake I made yesterday...) and went up Glen Tannar. Managed the first 25 minute estate track climb easier than usual, the rougher bits didn't seem so rough (funnily enough as I normally ride hard tail) and all in all it was pretty damn good. Haven't enjoyed myself so much up there since I took the Soul on it's maiden voyage a few years back (and lordie I love THAT bike).
Looks like I might have to start counting my pennies...
