If I get a side wall rip, and all the sealant in my tyre pours out on to the trail, is it going to kill all the squirrels?

How bad is a latex based sealant to the environment?

I've got a mental image of rubber squirrels bouncing about the place… (-:

The only info I can find about latex hazards (outside of NSFW applications) is relating to people who are allergic to the stuff.

Actually, having never run tubeless I don't know much about them, but is there actually a risk of sealent "pouring" out? I assumed that it worked by coating the insides of the tyre and drying rather than sloshing about in there.

Mostly from the sumps of MkII Escorts and Transit vans in my experience.

Cougar – it stays liquid until it clogs up a little hole.
If the hole is too big it stays liquid and just pours out, at which point a tube is used and the non tubeless converts laugh and laugh.

    Right.

    Isn't that terribly off-putting?
