  • how do you take a quote from someone else's answer and use it in yours? please!

    always answering forum questions and I see people have taken a quote from someone else’s answer and quoted it in there own answer so they can either comment on what they have stated on the thread or answer a question they might someone might have asked… just wondering how you do this as it would be very helpful! thanks alot, alex 🙂

    please help!:-) you copy what you want to quote.then you use the quote link above where you are writing.paste the quote then use the quote link again (so your quote has a

    either side. 🙂

    Once you’ve copied and pasted, select the text with your mouse, then just above the box where you type your post is a button marked ‘quote’. Click that, then the selected text should then appear as a quoted piece. Use the Preview funktion to test it.

    I dare say some smart arse wil come along and show off.. oh look. 😆

    Copy the bit you want using CTRL+C. Click on the “quote” button, press CTRL+V and then press the quote button again.

    Hit “quote” button – 5th from the left in post box

    Paste quote in normal way

    Hit “quote” button again

    It’s a nice feature, the lack of a proper quote function – like something off usenet from 1996. All part of the STW charm I guess…

    And don’t forget, you can type

    whatever you like

    and put it in quotes. Great if you want to mis-quote someone 😀

    Ctrl+a, Ctrl+c, move to your ‘answer’ then Ctrl+v
