    A bent piece of wire supporting the rearward facing pedal work, generally hidden by the rear tyre. Better than letting go IMHO.

    There was a thing in the “outro” bit of a pretty old issue of Singletrack, probably around 2004, where they had a little behind the scenes shot of Dave Anderson holding onto a wheel on one side and someone holding onto the wheel on the other side waiting for the photographer to yell “now” so they could jump out of the way.
