The Plough is the closest and nice pies but the wife doesn’t like the salads they dress the food with !!!

then you can be working class in a post modern ironic fashion.

That’s the curse of a northern comp education for you bravissimo. The Guardian could probably run a 3 page piece in G2 about the tragedy of it!

Christ! It’s ok being working class, but I wouldn’t be seen dead in the shite you lot leave the house in. I think you’re confusing the class issue with self-respect.

Do you buy your jeans from tesco? That, as everyone is well aware, is the point where you might as well just put yourself out of your misery!

I wanna live like common people – err right

I get a bit sick and tired of every Tom, Dick and Harry that has a decent wage thinking that they’re middle class. Unless you are of good education (no state school riff-raff) and managerial (proper managerial) you’re quite simply white collar working class

    .

I sort of agree. If you have to work for a living, you are working class, no matter how your big car and house are.

I think all the working class bikers should unite and overthrow the ruling class.

Riding might be a problem though, as you have nothing to lose but your chains…

    I agree entirely.

Tbf,you sound pretty working class but kind of oikishly aspirational anyway, so just keep going.

None of this is actually about class, it’s just about whether or not you are a dick.

Working class (or lower class, labouring class)……………. describe those employed in lower tier jobs (as measured by skill, education and lower incomes), often extending to those in unemployment or otherwise possessing below-average incomes.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_class

my work and education would point to me being working class, but my earnings and style of expenditure would identify me as being middle class….

    oh, and i drink bitter.

Do you reckon if we all write in we could get Jeremy Kyle to do a special?

“after the break – he got all mucky on the back seat of my Audi, then insulted my equipment!”

My bike is nearly 10 years old, my car is older, I live in the actual north, I work in a primary industry. I’m the only person in my group of riding buddies without a degree. *

    What do I get – a f**king sweetie?

To make the transition to working-class warrior, don’t forget to stock up on sour grapes. These sour grapes will eventually turn into vinegar, which you can sprinkle liberally on the sizeable chip on your broad working-class shoulder.

Now there’s bitter middle-class wallah with a massive chip on his shoulder.

Funny that, I never thought of Elfin as a Cannondale rider. All the working-class credibility he ever had lies in tatters.

It’s simple. You’re middle class if you have a job that let’s you spend all day on an internet forum and still get paid for it.

I’m working on going back to being working class again. TBH, the fact that I’ve got nothing better to do during working hours than argue with people on here is starting to get too depressing.

Ironically enough, when I do go back to being working class I’ll make more money and have more time off.

I thought the modern definition of middle class was someone who employs ‘staff’ at their home i.e. gardener/cleaner/housekeeper. I think you can take comfort in that childminders and window cleaners don’t count 🙂

So just tell your driver that don’t need him to escort you to Peaslake next weekend 🙂

Tbag how long did the train take, how many connections and return cost? Never thought of taking the train there- I thought itd cost too much. The bonus is you relax and enjoy ale before returning I bet 😀
