    Hi,

Does anyone know if you can run gears on this frame? It has horizontal dropouts.

    Cheers

you can use shimano Hone and I assume get gear hangers that go on the axle as well as mechs [ generaly low quality]

Someone also does a sliding mech wheel holder thing [ ah chain tug] with a mech hanger

Using one of those chain tugs with a mech hanger – won’t that be a bit of a bodge? Probably OK for 5-speed.

I wonder whether the frame is designed with enough clearance for a double chainring up front?

Hmm, I was thinking on getting it but not sure how I would get on with single speed :s

Yes it is a bodge but many MTB fixes are just better/prettier bodges

    Probably OK for 5-speed.

Worked ok on 9 speed for me so that makes 10 ok as well then

Chaintug hanger will work fine as long as any offset is ok.

    No cable routing
