Hopton Woods, Mortimer or Long Mynd

Whats it like there these days? Is it all DH type stuff? Am wondering where to ride on Friday whilest at the in-laws. Last time we did a long Borders route from Bucknell that I hated (all gates and fields with cows in and a tinsy good bit at the beginning and end in Bucknell Woods).

We usually ride on the Long Mynd but fancy a change. The other option is Mortimer Forest....My first choice would be the Long Mynd but where can you recommend for a bit of a change?

How about the Wyre Forest, not all that fare from Mortimer forest....

Another vote for Wyre forest, or how about Bringewood?

Though to get the best out of both you'd need a guide, or a GPS.

We know Bringewood/Mortimer fairly well but we don't know the Wyre. Is its something that can be done with rough directions, might need to arrange a proper ride next time we are down?

I suspect, from looking at tomorrows weather forecast that we will ride in Bringewood/Mortimer - less map stops that way!
