Seeking advice from those with experience of Alfine…

I’ve built my Alfine 8 speed bike up now and there seems to be a little bit of play in the wheel, side to side.

Does and Alfine hub run on cup and cone bearings or is it cartridge bearings? On first inspection it looks a bit more complicated than just tightening up cones as there’s the shifting mechanism to get round on the drive side.

Any tips/pointers appreciated, presuming a little play isn’t to be expected.

Like all Shimano it is cup and cone.
