Thinking of getting one of these. My main question is, is it better than my 900 lumen (or so they say) Deal Extreme light? If that light really is 900 lumens then the 240 of the Vision One sounds like nothing, though reviews seem to say it's good and photos of the beam seem to suggest it's powerful. Is the lumen thing a load of nonsense?

I use one mounted on the bars. Not sure of the Lumen output, but paired with an old cateye 2 on my helmet then that enough for playing about in the woods. Especially on full power

you could see pictures of the beam on torchy's site, although he seems to have removed the comparisons page.
will be outclassed by something that is really 900 lumens.
My 1000 lumen MTE torch is much more powerful.

I use one on my bars, as JustRide says great for playing in the woods.
Personally found it too heavy when mounted on my helmet

your dx light is more likely ~ 400/500 lumens. still a lot brighter than a vision 1.
look at one of the xml torches from the chinese guys.Posted 4 months ago # -
I have one as a spare commuting light.
It's a canny bit of kit and being able to stick normal batteries in when stuck without a charger is handy at times.
As above i don't know why they ship with a helmet mount as it's way too heavy.
