  • Home movie projects – Selective blurring, talk to me about it…

Making a few Gopro movies as you do, but there are the odd few shots that contain stuff I don’t want folk to see if the movies were public.
Nothing dodgy you understand, 😳 just my car numberplate etc.

I use pretty basic software at the moment, just Windows Moviemaker.
As far as I can see there is no way of selectively blurring out a portion of my shot. The problem is compounded obviously as its a moving image.

Has anyone found a good solution to this?….For free? 🙂

    Cheers.

You could get a trial version of after effects, duplicate the video layer, add a blur filter and mask that layer to just the bits you want blurred.

Easily done in adobe premiere too. Not a cheap package though…..

Thanks all, I’ll look into trial versions and see what I can do there. 🙂

try adding a shape/title to the film – go for comedy as it might look naff anyway. Something like a police sticker then move as required.

Yeah initially I was trying just to maybe add a cropped photo that would cover the area but couldn’t really seem to figure that out last night either.

When can we get software controlled simply by thought?… 🙂
