I’ve been using the Nuun tablets and I’ve been pleased with the performance when using them, however they are quite expensive. Can you made a similar drink at home for less, any recipe ideas?

I use electrolyte powder from myprotein.com. Cheap as chips, but postage is quite pricy. I get maltodextrin and fructose from there too, mixed up 2:1 with a bit of electrolyte powder and some squash (not the vegetable) and you’ve got the same thing as the SIS and Torq carbohydrate drinks for peanuts.

    To be honest?

I found orange juice got me through the Tour of Flanders more than adequately. I couldn’t find electrolyte fluid in Brussels in the preceding week.

the zero tablets seem cheap enough £5 makes 16 litres

yep I read somewhere (made sense at the time) that fruit juice, a pinch of salt & water makes a decent energy drink

Same as pedalhead – I go half fresh orange juice, half water and a pinch of salt.

Still seem to get headaches (after riding) on a hot day though 🙁
