A little something I’ve been working on to take the homebrew to the next level (well, not including accepting a place on a Brewing & Distilling Masters for 2017-18)

Local newsagents giving away an old ice cream freezer for free?

Perfect fit! 2 19 litre Cornie kegs, an old fire extinguisher and a welding regulator

Homebrew electronics. A temp controller that switches a couple of mains relays. One relay is the freezer plug, the second is a reptile heat mat. There is also a temperature probe. All in a waterproof box for garden electrics.

Shouldn’t leak my nice cold air out

    Nice addition to the kitchen

Looking forward to a nice cold beer tonight!

Excellent set up – Q: is the CO2 in the extinguisher ‘food safe’?(?)

I did read up on that. Whether or not it matters etc.
    Decided I didn’t care.

I had visions of one of those horrible working class boy done good things where they build a “only fools” themed mini-pub in their garage – but that’s ace.

What did you use to drill through your window surround? A road breaker?

(-: Incidentally, his next book is another (the final?) Brentford “Trilogy” outing.

500mm masonry bit and an SDS.
But filling that up is on the to-do list

Did you drill from the inside out?

I can’t see a padlock on the fridge – hypothetically is there anything to stop me creeping round your house in the night and swapping the C02 extinguisher for a foam one? 🙂

Not that I would do that. Not when N20 and Helium are both readily available

Are you married? I’m impressed with the set-up. Doubly impressed if you have a wife that let you do that. 😀

Yeah, went inside out. Was quite a tight fit so wanted it lined up nicely on the inside, not so fussed about how it came out on the outside.

Outside is a private roof terrace, noone else can get out there.

Must be a bit “drafty” with that size of hole
