  • High output wide angle GU10 dimmable LED lights – where from?

Looking to replace some 5.5w 36deg LED lights with a wider beam pattern (to minimise shadowing on work surfaces) but also want something a bit brighter if I can.

I have looked at LED Hut but they only have ones at 5w.

    Help!

What’s that in lumens? IKEA do a range of LED bulbs, among them GU10’s but as theirs are all rated in lumens like most LED lights, it’s difficult to make a comparison.

    We used these LumiLife ones:

120° beam, 300 lumens. Only 4 watt but noticeably brighter and whiter than the 50w halogens they replaced:

50w halogen on the right, 4w LED on the left!

We got the from LedHut but they don’t seem to have them at the moment.
They were £6.89 each. That was a couple of years ago and they are all still going strong.

Oh missed that you wanted dimmable. I think there is a dimmable version but it’ll cost more.

The main point is, don’t rely on wattage as an indication of brightness even when comparing LEDs to LEDs. Some are more efficient than others.

We have a cellar conversion full of them been there 5 yrs now and faultless. You can get them loads of places. Got ours from energybulbs. Nice yellow tint rather than harsh white

Not sure on angles having said that

We have just fitted 28 of these in our bungalow, after my parents having had them fitted in their house and being impressed, they’re dimmable and rated for use in wet areas.

What beam angle are folk putting in their kitchen? What’s a standard GU10 halogen beam angle?
