  • hifitrackworld: can you get a DAB receiver? (amp + DAB tuner)

I’m after one for the garage/workshop.

I already have speakers, so I just need an amp and DAB tuner. Rather than buy separates I could do with a one box solution but the only ones I’ve seen are mini systems like this (£160) which is fine but I don’t need the CD player and the tuner needs to use the remote to change channels.

You can change the tuner presets directly at the unit with one of those, I’ve got one.

You could go for a cheapy DAB radio (thread on here recently) and plug it into one of these. Hide the amp in a drawer or something. Not as pretty as the Denon, but if all you need is the radio and an amp…

    Ta. That’s handy.

I’ve now seen this, which looks interesting, if a tad pricey for the garage… Gives me the option to connect USB/harddrive with FLAC files.

I’ve got (the old version of) the Denon above. I really like it, also got a laptop with mopidy running on it so I can listen to tunes from spotify/network/laptop/hdd which I control via web browser or any MPD client.

I’m going to move mopidy on to a raspberry pi soon though to save space and make it look a bit tidier.

Does anyone know if a bluetooth USB deely would work in the USB port on the Denon? I’m looking for a DAB receiver that I can also plug my turntable into, and stream music to.
