Someone is selling this in the forum:
Shimano 8 Speed shifter/vbrake Combo, works fine, there is a split in the plastic cover on the left hand shifter, doesnt affect function. – £12 ideal for a flat bar roadbike conversion

I need a new 8 speed shifter (.. wanted add in the classifieds) but if I got this would it work on my cable discs?

So essentially the question is what is the difference between v brake levers and cable disc levers? It feels like you have to move less for a disc to engage so I presume that there is less distance between the pivot and the cable attachment on the lever. Am i right?

    Thank you!

No difference, they are the same thing, unless you have road specific avid discs which are designed to work with the cable pull of a road brake lever 🙂
