As title says really, Avid Elixir R SL 2010.

It happened the first time a couple of months ago, then i had it in for a service and the mechanic said he had noticed it but had freed them ok.

But it seems to be happening more regularly now.

They free up after a couple of minutes pumping the levers.

Whats the best solution for fixing this problem long term.

    All answers appreciated. Thanks

Been there changed juicy 3 to Shimano Deore

Now my som has Juicy 3 and we are having similar issues at the back(a different set)

I think you answered your own question. My son and are I both very front brake heavy. Avid brakes seem happier being used lots. So more rear wheel breaking

Long term, get the caliper completely stripped down and cleaned out(maybe new pistons and seals, depending on their condition), re-assemble using a silicone grease on the pistons and seals, and make sure the caliper is aligned perfectly square to the disc(try pushing the piston back in at a slight angle to demonstate how mis-alignment can cause a piston to stick, Avid’s are notorious for being set up badly).
