    I know I cannot use normal non-SIS road levers to operate V-brakes. But can I use V-brake levers to operate cantis?

    You can but it will have the opposite effect – leverage is too high and you will have insufficient stopping power.

    Insufficient stopping power sounds real bad. So can you please tell me wot levers are needed to run cantis with straight/riser bars?

    Tiagra R550 levers should do, and are both cheap and classy looking.
