    r = adj rebound

    rp23 = platform damping

    Happy with my float but I'm not a gadget-type of rider.

    if you have a fox float it is an R?

    So your two options are get it serviced & tuned (highly recommend a PUSH) or buy an RP23.
    Depends on how deep your pocket are…

    Nah you can get a float non-r that doesn't have the rebound damping adjuster. I would have thought the damping circuits are all pretty similar in the float range, with the higher models merely offering adjustment. If the rebound setting is good I wouldn't bother changing it.

    Keep in mind that the Float R has platform damping that you can't turn off.
    Ok for some, but not everyone's cup of tea.

    I think the ability to turn off the propedal is good, bike climbs better on rougher stuff IME. So RP series for me. Propedal good for flattish stuff and road links, but on rougher stuff I'd rather have it switched off. Your budget may differ.
