want a yeti but can only find 575 cheap, ideal would be asr5. will be racing it so question is is a 575 too heavy really? have eyes on helius cc 2nd hand or new 2011 trance x (all frame only)

Depends what your racing aspirations are. What sort of racing? How near the front do you want to be?

just turning 40 so no aspirations for 1st trust me on that. things like big dog and the selkirk marathon race. more of a distance man with strength these days then a flatout sprint merchant.

was really wondering how responsive and easy to pedal they are.

575 looks like a great trail bike but probably not the best for that sort of racing. Though if most of your riding is trail riding with the occasional marathon style race, and you’ve no head of the pack aspirations, then I’m sure it’ll be fine and you’ll have a lot of fun on it.

Never ridden a 575 though (but in true STW style I still offered an opinion!) so may be best to wait for other owners to comment.
