of course. Take the mountain king off & replace it with ANYTHING else.

The wheel will be 200% better.

Take it to a bike shop if you don’t know what you’re doing.

them orange 5’s are known for the wheels buckling, any other bike and it could be fixed, but orange?, oh dear

seriously, if it’s only out of true it’s very fixable

From your question I would suggest you take it to a bike shop. Unless it’s really tacoed a wheel builder will be able to get it back in to true with no new parts. Even if it’s totally folded (which it doesn’t sound like) it will be repairable with maybe a new rim and possibly new spokes.

this has made me think twice about buying a 5.

am i likely to suffer from buckled wheel-itis if i buy one?

I buckled my wheel on my nicolai, though thats because i landeed on it from a great height when it was lying on the floor.

I’ve been trying in vain to buckle the wheels on my 5 but they won’t. does this mean..
    A) I’m riding like a fanny?
    B) I’m riding on smooth surfaces?
    C) My wheels have been built by an expert using top class rims, spokes & hubs?

    I can’t decide but I don’t think It’s A, as I’ve been riding for 20 years (non stop) & I don’t think It’s B, cos I ride mainly in’t Yorkshyre Dales.
    I think it’s C.

Your wheels won’t mend, you need a new bike.
    hic…cheers.

The pro has a bad name for wheel buckling. Should have gone for the SE, costs more but will save you money in the long run.
