He has a Gary Fisher Tassajara from back in the day, and he has stripped the BB threads.

    1) Can they be fixed?
    2) Can some other kind of BB be installed somehow?
    3) Anyone have a similar old frame going spare? Would need to be quite large.

    1) Depends how badly stripped they are – sometimes re-threading is enough to save them.
    2) http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/p/47132/YST-Threadless-Cartridge-Bottom-Bracket
    3) eBay or http://www.retrobike.co.uk

Those threadless bb cartridges do work. But i think they could really do with the bb shell being chamfered to mate with it as i’ve had a couple come loose and i think its the lack of contact that does it.

Speak to Argos Racing Cycles in Bristol, they can ream & sleeve ali frames, or fit new shells to steel frames.
