You could try giving your prickly mate some fruit, no idea whether he’ll take it but worth a try. Raw egg would work I reckon.

Asked this myself a few weeks back!

Been giving them Peanuts and mealworms (so if they leave any the birds have em!)

If it was me I would leave it to find its own food – make it reliant on your food and it might struggle to find its own if you aren’t around to feed it.

Leave a bowl of fresh water out at this time of year as well. Dry cat food is good too.

If you do put some dry food down for it make sure you put some fresh water down too. You can give them wet food (preferably Whiskers supermeat) If you do, put a few dry kibbles on top to help with cleaning their teeth.

Last year we raised a couple of orphans, on peanuts, fresh chicken, cat and dog food and odd kitchen scraps, carrots etc.

They travel up to a mile every night looking for food, so anything high energy is what htey need to keep those little legs going.

Dog food, water. Not milk. Gives them the squits apparently.

    I love hedgehogs, lucky you.

We have a badger visiting the garden every night, even though it’s digging the lawn up, I can’t help but like them.
