Anyone know if you can claim for meningitis on health insurance?

I’ve got Pruhealth cover with work and flicking through some paperwork I had buried on my desk I just spotted that Meningitis is claimable.
Had Meningitis about 2 years ago and never thought anything about it at the time. I had a week + in the hospital then a further 6 weeks or so off work but it impacted my life massively with energy levels and what I could actually do (off the bike for 18 months more or less) and I’ve only been really feeling normal again this summer.

Never occured to me to think about claiming. Anyone ever claimed for it?
Can you make a claim for past illness? (I was covered at the time).

Don’t expect much would come from it now but it did intrigue me….
