i'd be more worried in about say……3 weeks when it needs replacing, isis isn't known for it's longevity

Really? I've just regreased my 2001 ISIS bottom bracket and it was fine. Admittedly, it cost more than £35 but it's done me proud.

my quick search found it for £18, dot mtb or something like that. anyway, you're right, it all works and i can ride tomorrow now so wtf.

mtbmaff reckons it'll last 6 weeks, so that's my target 😯

I'm betting less and while there certainly are a few small exceptions, ISIS was one of the worst mountain biking inventions ever. The sooner it is consigned to the scrapheap (and people going on about how it's worked since 2001 is not going to help this process), the better.

9 years on a non replaceable bearing bottom bracket means

    A) you need to give me some lottery numbers

    B) it's been in a drawer in your shed for 9 years

    C) you need to ride a bit more

Superstar Isis BB still going strong after 2.5 years on my P7 , one of the good products they supply.

UPDATE; well it lasted 12 weeks but i've been surfing more than riding so that wasn't as good as it sounds. just ordered a "long-life" one from superstar, can't wait to see what sweets they send me 😳
