Just been out on another ride today and was trying to work out how old the stem and handlebars on my current bike are as these are the oldest components on my bike by far.

Figured they are around 10 – 12 years old by now and have been used from DH racing to dirtjumping and now XC.

How old would something like this need to be before you would consider buying new stem and bars?

I think what I really wanted to know is are these bars and stem actually safe to use after all these years?
