I have just been reading the terms on the Whyte warranty and it states that bars should be changed every 2 years to avoid risk of failure!
Never even considered changing bars that frequently – does anyone else do this?

Mine are pretty ancient, just never thought of them as a 'consumable'

i'd say it also depends on HOW you ride… WHen i had a dh bike, i replaced the bars every year or so, as they take a beating, and you really dont want them failing. Xc bikes, as long as they dont get damaged particularly, every two years or so, except i never seem to keep hold of them that long anyway.

I've just replaced my bars for the first time. The previous set were about 8 years old and had spent the first few months of their life on Steve Peat's bike. I only swapped them as I needed a new stem and have gone oversize to standardise all my bikes
