    Alright, as above really…… standard or XL, running normal mavic 318’s. Standard • Size: Front (100mm); 6.0mm thick
    Rear (135mm); 6.5mm thick

    or Extra long, maximum dropout capacity;
    • Front (100mm); 11.0mm thick.
    • Rear (135mm); 10.0mm thick.

    So, which ones?

    cheers!
    🙂

    Hubs are: Front: Kona OB-1, Rear: Shimano Alivio

    Depends on your frame/forks surely?

    Salsa Cromoto on the front, 8 speed cassette on the back, But it’s the “thickness” thats confusing me though (length is the same on both sets)

    Length isn’t the same.

    The 100/135 is the width of the hub.

    So guessing;

    Standard front 112mm, rear 149mm

    XL front 122mm, rear 155mm

    The thickness quoted refers to the maximum thickness of the dropouts the skewers are designed for. With a Salsa Cromoto on the front I’d guess you’d need the regular. I bought a set of XLs for my Tazer hardtail as the dropouts combined with the tensioners needed the extra length – a standard skewer did the job but was only holding by 5mm or so of thread. Its replacement (watch this space 😉 ) although chunky, is fine with the standard length skewer (in fact the XL protruded too much, although it clamped fine).

    Standard, and don’t over tighten them. The end will ping off. 😳
