Is it ok to use these on a SS set up? Just converting an old hardtail to ss and I’m struggling to take up the slack in the chain as its just too tight to lose the last link i really need to. Or would i be better getting a 17t cog instead.

half links work well on SS bikes

They work fine. You can get whole chains or individual links. I think mines made by Gusset. If you already have a chain then an individual link would be cheaper this time. Try Velosolo or charliethebikemonger

Cool thanks. Finally decided to try ss after getting sick of winter bike cleaning and starting to feel fit after riding more regularly again for the last year.
