Had my beloved car stolen. The f3ckers broke into our home, came past our bedroom and cleared off with my car, a full tank of fuel, my ipod out of the hall, 2 pairs of Oakleys, sat nav and my work diary.

Reg is BX07 JUO. I know the chances are almost zero, but if anyone see it, let me know! The lucky thing was, I was going to load my bike up to go to cannock chase the night before, but decided I couldn't be bothered, phew! (Stolen from Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield)

Most of the cars I know of that have been pinched (mates/family) have had their car turn up a few days later either written off or ragged to death, including a tastey Tuscan S.

That was luck, that they stole your wifes' car 😉

How did they break-in?

When my car was stolen the police told me that usually they turn up (in varying states) within 72 hours or not at all.

We had a break in just over a week ago. What a bad experience. All in bed at the time. Loaded wifes car with telly ps3 etc and took keys to my car as well which has been a pain. Get my car back tomorrow after new locks fitted. wifes car was found two streets away locked and unmarked. they tried to get in garage but couldn't thank god. Police know who they are but can't prove it. We are the 6th to be done. You have my sympathies.

Car like that i would imagine is in a cargo crate on its way to Africa/South America.

Not my dream car, but I empathise with your loss. Bastards.

Most cars stolen turn up a few weeks or months later either dumped or burnt out. OR they use it to commit other offences before they are rumbled. It's rare for cars to be shipped off to other climes, it's idiots ragging them about for either fun or as already mentioned to commit more serious crimes.

My brother once had a very old and very knackered Ford Escort nicked. They found it about 200 metres down the road, engine still running, with the gearstick on the back seat – the nylon threaded base (that held the gearstick to the gearbox) had worn badly and he used to jam it in using matchsticks – any rough handling simply ripped it back out.

Was there a WAHL hair trimmer/beard shaper and matching scissors in teh glove box? I presume that there was hair dye and bleach in the trunk?

I found a set of keys in the park on Sunday. For an Aston.

I pressed the button a few times, but there was no car around to unlock; it might have tested my honesty. Took them to the plod shop instead.

A test indeed!! One I may have failed.

Sadly all too common these days, now that immobilisers work so well. Often it's a muppet owner dropping the keys on a hall table allowing a fishing operation through the letterbox. Anyone attempting to nick my Octy, (highly unlikely), would get my iPod as well, cos it's always left in the glove box attached to my stereo. Daft, I know, but I'm too lazy to take it out every time I park the car.

I had my Integra Type-R stolen a few years ago. Used for a few robberies and then turned up in Sparkbrook…

get whatever you want mate, I would always stick with Jap but German cars are ok.

The way I would look at it is gutted for the loss, but winner for the chance to go test a load of fat cars and get a new one that you love.

Glad your bike wasn't in it, that would have been a much bigger loss 😉

I suggest waiting a while. We had an A3 Sportback 2.0T Quattro S-line stolen by the same method. It turned up parked at the side of the road. Thieves park them to see if they have a tracker fitted then come back a while later if it hasn't moved.

We got ours back and just needed the locks changing.

They kicked in our back door )Aluminium skinned security door with deadbolts top and bottom. We replaced it with a Rockdoor.

Since then we've had another car nicked and last weekend my bike nicked. It's not been a good 2 years and I'm probably the most paranoid lock everything person I know! 🙁

Yeah, that is my other concern. If I get something nice, am I likely to get robbed again. The paraniod state my wife is in makes me want to get a lada!

Don't mean to sound like a ****t but I would concentrate on making your house secure before anything else. The thought of some B#stard in my house where my kids are would really freak me out. Buy a cheaper car and more expensive doors and locks.
