I live at the beach. It would be considered odd if I didn't wear shorts.
Nothing wrong with shorts, or dressing for comfort in general. if I had my way I'd never wear formal shirt/trouser/shoes for work ever again – literally the first thing I do when I arrive home from work is get changed.
