New to RS Maxles…the rod seemed to lack any grease when I got the forks: should I grease the Maxle rod? Any bits to avoid?

    Cheers

I leave them clean and grease free, it’ll only attract muck if you use it in dirty conditions or ever drop it on gravel.

Definately grease it, prevents seizing and aids fitting/removal. Have had 3 Pikes over the last 2 years with zero problems.

have a look on any internet forum that nestles newbies (pinkbike springs to mind) and you will see a fair few people have problems with maxles seizing because they haven’t greased them. i would highly recommend applying a small amount of grease to prevent this posibility.
