    Hello all,

Might have some time off in the next couple of weeks, and fancy riding some offroad routes somewhere in Spain while the weather is still nice.

I know there are many herding roads across the country, and saw some articles on touring through the country a while back on 700c hipster 32c type bikes.

Can anyone think of where they might have seen them or have any advice?

    Thanks
    Joe

The via verdes are their equivalent of our Sustrans routes, also in France, flat old railways lines and in Brittany at least canal paths. If your after mountain gravel roads they’re not on that website but we stitched together a few weeks in the picos de Europa and surrounding ranges on some fantastic mountain passes, inevitably using tarmac for transitions.

CSB – do you have a GPX of your route?

Back in the day we did something like this but on rigid MTBs. I found the white roads on Michelin maps were good. We did one right through the centre of the Picos. It was brilliant

Did it using a Michelin 1.200,000 road map for the ride in from Santander (nice place in its own right) and a couple of more accurate ones from stanfords, adrados editiones is the brand (we don’t know how lucky we are with ordnance survey).
