Theres loads of great multi purpose tyres in 700x 40 that are decent on road and grippy on fire road / light off road.

Tyres like WTB nano, Clement MSO and Bruce Gordon Rock n Road are grippy, low drag and folding so lightweight.

There doesn’t seem to be any similar tread tyres in 26″ anymore.

There used to be WTB nano in 26″ but no more….

What happened to tyres like this in 26″ x 1.75-1.95 with folding bead?

Have a look on SJS Cycles. Quite a few suitable.

I used those Bonty LT3 which were 26″x1.60 still have the pair in the garage very good off-road fine on the road.

Hutchinson Cobra hardskin great for commutes and xc but avoid the mud & slop. Fairly narrow 26×2.1″ folding.

Not folding but a Conti Double Fighter III might work for you?
