Sorry if it sounds patronising but: Be grateful your parents are around to be Grandparents.

I’m glad both my parents and parent-in-law are still around for my kids. I dearly wish my grandparents were as well. It’s my Grandad’s fault I ride bikes. My Grandmother taught me how to wear a suit (she was a tailor). My parents were and still are fantastic but oftentimes kids establish more respectful relationships with their grandparents and learn things from them they’d never hear from their parents. Gifts are the start of that relationship.
