So my dad has got my mum a nexus tablet. Can’t imagine it’s the best present for her , but too late now.

Anyone recommend any apps for the older folk ? Basic games or shop apps ? I’ve put on the usually like bbc news, scotrail, tesco etc. I don’t really want them to get involved with paying for apps quite yet. She’s never used a pc, but I think that is probably an advantage tbh

    Cheers

My mum uses a lot of the news apps and doesn’t bother buying a paper anymore.

    BBC news
    BBC weather
BBC sport (if she likes sport that is)
Hangouts (whatsapp doesn’t work on tablets)
    Loads of puzzle type games
    TVcatchup for watching live tv
    BBC iPlayer
    IPlayer radio
    Tv guide
Whichever bank she is with should have a banking app available
    Loads of shopping apps.
Plus once you download a few play will begin to suggest others you may be interested in.

Zippy, I’ve just got a Nexus 7 as a late present for myself and found this thread. I found Ai factory in Google store.
