So ive started to get a lot of random google play adverts popping up on my phone through general use. Not just facebook but websites youtube app etc.

Ive scanned it but cant find anything. Any idea how to find out whats causing it?

Ive seen a couple of these reports on the tinterweb but i cant figure it out. Ive reformatted the phone (xperia XZ) and its still happening. Its very intermittent, maybe one a day.

Its bloody annoying though!

When I had a Sony Z1 compact, the File Manager program it comes with (I forget the exact name) updated to a version that started giving adverts on the notification bar. It wasn’t obvious that that app was triggering them and it took me ages to track it down.

In the end I deactivated the app as I never used it and the ads stopped.
