It was a terrible PR stunt that went terribly wrong for them, you can tell that by all the new wave of PR from Apple being blasted all over the TV and iTunes.

Silly Boys, really should have known this would happen to them shouldn’t they.

He said sorry. Please let us know what infringement of your personal space, freedoms, etc were caused by U2 giving away for free what people now have to pay for, should they desire.
I despise Tony Blair, a man who lied, and lied again in order to involve us in a war of dubious legality, has continually associated with government leaders of very dubious behaviour, and has made millions of pounds from it.
Would you suggest that Bono is in any way as despicable a person as Blair, just because he can be a bit pompous when talking about subjects he’s passionate about?
Go and have a quiet talk with yourself, for Heaven’s sake, there are far worse people in the world who are genuinely worth getting yourself worked up over.
Bono doesn’t even get onto my top 100 list of people who piss me off.

    He said sorry.

Now, now, CZ. You don’t have to stick up for everything related to Apple.

And the fact that they have U2 on their advert?

Bugger-all to do with Apple, this thread is about Bono and U2, or have I missed something along the way?
It annoys me seeing grown-ups behaving like whiney, petulant ten year olds just because some rock band that they have a totally irrational dislike of gave away ten quids worth of album for free.
If it came via Amazon I’d adopt the same attitude to the same snivelling and whining.
And I’d either happily accept the freebie or delete it as necessary.

I think a thread on STW is far more inconsequential and you have a good moan about them.

For those who don’t have a hatred for some musician, the album is not bad.

I think you have missed which company gave it away, how and to which devices.

I dont REALLY think you have missed that tbh so I dont really know why you said that – it makes you look less than completely truthful
I am not even sure what point you werre trying to make with that post either.

Yeah, getting paid £100m for that is a sure sign that it backfired. They must be so annoyed only having an extra £100m in the bank

I heard the interview today where he ‘apologised’ in an interview and it wasn’t really an apology.
It sounded very obnoxious, sarcastic and insincere to me.

I don’t have any iDevices (well, apart from an old Nano somewhere) and haven’t logged into my iTunes account since last June, so don’t know if I have the album or not. But, I did think he came across as a bit of a bellend.
