Lahar and Zerode are great examples of Kiwi blokes tinkering in their sheds doing things a little differently. Shame such ventures never really enjoy the success they deserve.
Reminds me of the NZ-made Britten motorbike of the 90’s:
My favourites are the Transition TR450, although I actually prefer the 250, Intense Socom, Evil Revolt and the Trek Session 88. The new Turner DHR looks good too.
now thats more like it! Industrial looks always better than flimsy looking swingarms that looks like some robotic grasshoppers (not saying they dont do the job well tho)
Loving this thread. Some real horrors though! Interesting to see such a variety of opinion with no name calling too. If this was “nice looking rigid ti forks” there would have been class war, 2 flounces and a ban by now.
The zerode does look gorgeous but the weight put me off a fair bit, seems pretty heavy for a modern dh bike. The fuel tank is a bit Halfords too. Hope they get enough support to develop it further though, innovative concept. The carbon all mountain version they have looks great…
Info is hard to dig up, but there’s a few bits and pieces scattered around.
