Epson 535 we have currently never seems to work properly

Any recommendations for a decent good value domestic printer?

If colour isnt a priority then the only way to go is a laser printer.
my samsung is fantastic (well as fantastic as a printer can be)

Yes I would say get a decent mono laser and then get colour printing done on high street or online if/when you actually need it.
