As some here may know, my gmail account has been compromised.

How do I ask Google to stop it sending any emails?
How do I get them to freeze access to the account until I can prove I am me?

My plan is to set up another gmail account and import the address book and stored emails into that, is that possible?

Other than changing every internet based password I can think of, is there anything else I should do?

Stop using the same password for your ‘specialist interest’ websites as you do for your email?

They’ve got your contacts, but are probably spoofing your addy from another email account. If you can get in and change your password you should be ok once they get bored with your contact list.

My sincere regrets for this sudden request, things actually got out of control
on my trip to Madrid,Spain . I was mugged,all my belongings including mobile phone
and credit card were all stolen at gun point. I need your help flying back home.
